Statement of Need
Course material was selected for this conference based on input from urology managers, comments on previous course evaluations and advice from the Practice Management Committee and the UAA Executive Committee. By possessing knowledge of excellent practice management techniques, urologists and their staff can manage their practices more effectively, which will allow them to spend less time on administrative processes and more time on direct patient care.
Learning Objectives
The 2008 Urology Practice Management Conference will allow participants to cite the importance to their practices of major initiatives that are expected to affect the delivery of urology services in the immediate future. These initiatives are:
1. utilization of electronic record keeping systems
2. improving the management teamwork between physicians and managers
3. expanded services improving patient service while enhancing the practice profitability
In addition, participants will identify various management techniques used by their peers that can help improve their own practice management effectiveness.
Accreditation Statement
The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The AUA takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.
The granting of credit hours for members of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) is based on a review of the program description submitted by the sponsoring organization and is intended to verify the content relevance and number of instructional contact hours only. ACMPE acknowledges this organization to be a bona fide sponsor of continuing education programs, wholly responsible for the delivery, quality and outcomes of this program.
Credit Designation
The American Urological Association designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
